BUYING OR SELLING? THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION

They say that communication is a two way process.   However, when selling or buying a house, it is a three-way if not a four-way process.   How so, you might ask?

Well, to successfully sell your house you need to enjoy clear communication with your Sales Agent and Solicitor who are knowledgeable Experts and they in turn should maintain a line of communication with each other.   So, we have a three-way process.

To buy without the minimum of hassle, you need to enjoy that clear communication with your Surveyor, Lender and Solicitor and all three in turn need to listen to your needs and establish clear lines of communication among themselves.

Buying or Selling is a Team Effort.   A discordant team leads to the process being unsatisfactory for you, the Client. No Client needs unnecessary frustration !

What should you do to make this Communication Process work in your best interests whether you are selling or buying?

Firstly, remember it is your transaction and you are entitled to set out clearly the service you expect.   At the very least you should ensure that those on your Team are clear that you expect them to communicate regularly with you and with each other.   At every stage of your transaction, all need to be on the same page.

That clarified and established then the second matter to be addresses is your chosen methods of communication.   Let your Team know your preferred method of communication particularly for updates on your transaction.    I can personally recommend the merits of e-mail communication as it facilitates direct access and sharing of information.   Of course, face to face, written and telephone communications are all part of the package.
